VisitGuernsey Adds 18 New Walks To Its Official App

VisitGuernsey has added 18 new self-guided walks to its official walking app, taking the total to 28 on the app.

In an official statement, VisitGuernsey said: “The walking app is the ideal tool for ramblers keen to explore The Islands of Guernsey on their own with a vast variety of different walking routes.”

The app uses audio and an interactive map to keep walkers on the right path while tracking the number of steps and highlighting points of interest along the way.

Also included are refreshment stops, activities and attractions.

Walks are rated by difficulty and length of time. There’s a walk suitable for every type of visitor and easily accessible on their smartphone.

Travellers can experience escorted walks at Guernsey’s Spring Walking Festival, taking place between 21 May and 5 June 2022.

Over 40 morning, afternoon, and evening escorted walks will be available.

New walks on the app include a “Nature Reserve To Ancient Settlement” short walk along Guernsey’s coastline that encompasses rare wetland habitats, Guernsey’s only remaining quarry and the ubiquitous loop-holed tower.

A “Witches, Castles & Famous French Writers” walk takes visitors to St Peter Port, a plaque dedicated to three women who lost their lives after being accused of witchcraft, a restored Victorian shop, the market square and Castle Cornet.
