The UK’s best hotels and their teams across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have been revealed at the AA Hospitality Awards in a ceremony at Grosvenor House in London.
Returning with an in-person ceremony for the first time in three years, the awards honoured the best hospitality establishments in the UK across twenty-six categories.
This includes AA Restaurant of the Year, AA Hotel of the Year, the newly launched AA Accessible Award, AA Spa Hotel of the Year, AA Wine Award, AA Chefs’ Chef, AA Lifetime Achievement Award and AA Housekeeper of the Year.
The five Hotel of the Year Awards went to:
Grantley Hall (England), with its fusion of contemporary style and architecture dating back to the 17th century
Pan Pacific London (London), which only opened in September last year; first UK hotel to be located on a vineyard,
Llanerch Vineyard (Wales)
The Balmoral (Scotland), which is also celebrating its 120th anniversary this year
The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat (Northern Ireland) a destination hotel and spa experience.
The Accessible Award is new to the AA Hospitality Awards this year and recognises a hotel that has gone above and beyond in making its property as accessible as possible.
The award was taken home by Rudding Park in Harrogate, while Swinton Estate in Masham won the Sustainable Award, which awards hotels dedicated to sustainable policies.
Lime Wood in Lyndhurst took home the Spa Hotel of the Year Award, and was praised for its superb, perfectly designed spa, inspired by its forest surroundings in the heart of the New Forest.
The Pig Group was the recipient of Hotel Group of the Year, while Iconic Luxury Hotels was crowned Small Hotel Group of the Year.
Ten hotels across the UK received new AA Red Stars.
Simon Numphud, Managing Director at AA Media said: “It was great to be back at Grosvenor House after three years and to celebrate the greatest hospitality establishments across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
“The past few years have been incredibly tough for the hospitality sector, from lockdowns to travel restrictions, supply chain issues to the rising cost of living, but these awards have highlighted how our industry, time and time again, has worked tirelessly to overcome adversity and create unforgettable experiences for the public.
“We would like to congratulate all the winners and shortlisted establishments for their hard work, passion and dedication to providing hospitality to the highest standards.”
