Cruise Saudi, the entity responsible for the creation and development of Saudi’s cruise industry, is delighted to announce the renaming of its first ship.
As the first ship in the AROYA Cruises fleet, the ship has been renamed AROYA in an eponymous link to the brand.
In a statement, Cruise Saudi said that the name AROYA combines the words ‘Arabian’ and ‘Roya’, which translates to ‘vision’ or ‘dream’.
Dr Joerg Rudolph, President of AROYA Cruises, said: “We are delighted to have officially renamed our first AROYA Cruises ship to AROYA.
“The name evokes a sense of wanderlust and excitement, which passengers feel from the moment they step aboard.
“We are looking forward to the launch in December 2024. A new very modern form of vacation is being introduced by Aroya in the Arab world.”
With the ability to accommodate 3362 passengers, AROYA is a floating resort, created to offer a uniquely Arabian holiday experience.
On-board facilities include 15 restaurants serving a variety of local and international cuisines; 20 entertainment venues, including a state-of-the-art theatre; a swimming pool, complete with kid’s water park and splash zone; and a relaxing spa, Blossom by AROYA.
Guests can choose from Interior, Seaview and Balcony Cabins, each with modern furnishings and amenities.
For an extra special holiday experience, passengers can indulge in AROYA’s Khuzama experience, which includes luxurious Suite and Villa accommodation and elevated services such as priority boarding, VIP lounge access, VIP restaurant and an on-board butler.
The renaming marks a significant step in the development of AROYA Cruises, said the company in a statement.
The 335-metre-long ship is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment to become a brand-new ship which will be of the highest standard of services and facilities for passengers.
Homeporting in Jeddah, AROYA will initially sail around the Red Sea. Itineraries range from three to seven nights which include stops such at a Saudi private island, Aqaba in Jordan, Sharm El Sheikh and Ain Sokhna in Egypt.
