Wayfairer Travel has launched an exclusive 13-day expedition, beginning in Kenya’s Masai Mara and concluding on the remote and luxurious Alphonse Island in the Seychelles.
Guests can expect extraordinary wildlife encounters across two of the planet’s most biodiverse regions, at a relaxed pace.
Guests who travel before October could witness the great migration, where millions of wildebeest migrate from the plains of the Serengeti into the Masai Mara.
Jason Stevens, CEO, Wayfairer Travel, said:
“This itinerary reflects what we believe travel should be – thoughtful and immersive. Combining Masai Mara with the quiet luxury of Alphonse Island offers our guests an extraordinary way to experience two very different but equally remarkable landscapes. It’s a journey designed for those who value wildlife.”
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 – 3: The journey starts in Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most diverse wildlife destinations, for a three-night stay at the luxury safari camp, Alex Walker’s Serian. Guests will experience expertly guided game drives during the early mornings and late afternoons, whilst wildlife is most active.
Each day provides the opportunity to see big cats, elephants, giraffes, and, during the migration season, vast herds of wildebeest. A sunrise breakfast in the bush and golden-hued sundowners complement each day on the safari.
Day 4: After a final morning in the Masai Mara, guests will return to Nairobi for an overnight stay at the Giraffe Manor.
Here, they’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a meal in the company of the resident Rothschild giraffes. The afternoon is free to explore Nairobi’s cultural highlights, such as the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust or local artisan markets.
Day 5 – 12: The journey continues onwards to the Seychelles, connecting via Mahe to the remote and exclusive Alphonse Island. The Indian Ocean retreat offers a week of relaxation and exploration.
Days are spent snorkelling in coral reefs, diving in world-class marine sites and heading out on guided excursions. Alphonse Island offers barefoot luxury, refined dining and serene beachside accommodation.
The expedition is 13 days and £12,250 per person.
