Following the success of Ambassador’s first Extreme Day Trip to Palma de Mallorca last year, agents flew to Barcelona, where Renaissance was calling as part of her summer programme for the French market.
Hosted by Jade Cheadle, Business Development Manager – South and James Doohan, Business Development Executive – North, the trip welcomed agents from across the UK, including the South West, Wales, Northern Ireland and the North.
Partners represented included Not Just Travel, Hays Travel, Bolsover Cruise Club, Bailey’s Travel, East of England Co-op Travel, InteleTravel, Miles Morgan Travel, TUI, No Fuss Holidays and Lauryn James Travel.
On arrival, the group was welcomed aboard with cocktails and canapés on the Pool Deck followed by an exclusive trade presentation, Caribbean-inspired three-course lunch and a tour of the ship, including a selection of cabins, dining venues, lounges, entertainment spaces and public areas.
The visit concluded with refreshments before agents disembarked and had the opportunity to spend time in Barcelona before returning to the UK.
The Extreme Day Trip offered the trade a taste of what UK guests will experience aboard Renaissance ahead of her second Caribbean winter season, which begins on 29 October 2026 to 1 April 2027.
Homeporting in Bridgetown, Barbados, Renaissance will operate 10 itineraries, including eight 14-night fly-cruise sailings and two repositioning cruises, with direct Virgin Atlantic flights from London Heathrow and Manchester for British guests.
The visit also coincided with the launch of Ambassador’s third and fourth Caribbean fly-cruise seasons for winter 2027/28 and 2028/29.
The newly launched programmes will each feature 10 sailings, including eight 14-night Caribbean fly-cruises and two repositioning sailings between the UK and Bridgetown.
Jade Cheadle, Business Development Manager – South at Ambassador Cruise Line, said: “Following the success of our first Extreme Day Trip last year, it was fantastic to welcome 40 of our trade partners aboard Renaissance in 2026, this time in Barcelona.
“There’s nothing quite like experiencing a ship first-hand to understand the product and what it can offer customers. The Extreme Day Trip gave our agents the opportunity to experience Renaissance for themselves, explore the cabins and public areas and enjoy the outstanding cuisine and ‘warmest welcome at sea’ our guests have come to expect of Ambassador.
“Our trade partners play an incredibly important part in Ambassador’s success and initiatives like this are about giving them the knowledge and experience they need to sell our product with confidence.
“With our second Caribbean season beginning next month and our 2027/28 and 2028/29 programmes now on sale, it was a great opportunity to welcome agents aboard and give them a taste of what their customers – our guests – can look forward to experiencing Renaissance for many winter seasons to come.”
The Extreme Day Trip forms part of Ambassador’s ongoing programme of trade activity, including ship visits, fam trips, training and dedicated sales support, designed to provide agents with the knowledge and experience to sell Ambassador’s no-fly and fly-cruise programmes.
To be in with a chance of winning a place on the Extreme Day Trip, agents booking any Ambassador fly-cruise or no-fly ex-UK sailing between Friday 18 July and Thursday 30 July 2026 were invited to email their name, agency name, ABTA number and proof of booking to the team.
Eligible partners were then entered into a prize draw, with the winners announced on 4 August 2026. Flights and overseas transfers were covered by Ambassador.
