The adults-only cruise line has partnered with chef Rashida Holmes to introduce a new Caribbean-inspired menu at The Beach Club at Bimini in The Bahamas, while Michelin-starred chef Brad Farmerie is back with new brunch and dinner menus for The Wake, the line’s onboard steakhouse.
The Dock, Virgin Voyages’ Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, has also introduced a selection of new dishes.
The new experiences are designed to appeal to both first-time and returning Sailors (guests), with more than a third of Virgin Voyages’ customers choosing to sail with the brand again.
New Caribbean menu at The Beach Club at Bimini
Chef Rashida Holmes, founder of Los Angeles-based Bridgetown Roti, has created a new menu inspired by her Barbadian and Trinidadian heritage, replacing the original offering at The Beach Club at Bimini.
The menu includes Curry Chicken Roti, based on her mother’s family recipe, Snapper Patties, Tamarind BBQ Skewers, Tostones (fried plantains) and Coconut Rice Pudding.
Chef Rashida Holmes said: “I’m excited to partner with Virgin Voyages. It was important to me that Sailors can experience the joy of the Caribbean at the Beach Club at Bimini. Giving them a taste of what I grew up eating – taught to me by my parents and aunties – is how I express that joy.
“The Curry Chicken Roti, a staple at our flagship Bridgetown Roti in Los Angeles, is an ode to my mother’s recipe, which she learned growing up in Barbados.
“Marinated and grilled shrimps were dad’s favourite in the summer, with a spicy fruit chow made from whatever was ripe and sweet from the Amish market. The mac and cheese is a legendary Holmes’ holiday staple.”
The menu is being introduced across the fleet, with Resilient Lady the first to offer the new dishes in October, followed by Scarlet Lady later in the month, Brilliant Lady in November and Valiant Lady when she returns to Bimini in April 2027.
Michelin-starred chef refreshes The Wake
The Wake, Virgin Voyages’ signature steakhouse, has introduced refreshed brunch and dinner menus developed in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Brad Farmerie, who helped create the restaurant’s original offering.
The new brunch menu includes Waldorf Salad, Russet Sweet Potato Hash and Portobello Mushroom Benedict, while dinner additions include Tuna Tartare on selected ships, Bacon-Wrapped Twice-Baked Potatoes and Oysters Rockefeller.
The restaurant has also expanded its seafood selection, with dishes including Pan Roasted Salmon, Grilled Swordfish and Caramelised Sea Scallops.
Additional vegan and gluten-free options have been introduced, while Sailors travelling on voyages longer than seven nights will benefit from further menu specials.
Mediterranean-inspired additions at The Dock
The Dock, Virgin Voyages’ relaxed, open-air Mediterranean restaurant, has introduced a selection of new dishes designed for sharing.
Highlights include Jewelled Tabbouleh, Sautéed Aubergine, Red Lentil Dip, Turkish Devilled Eggs and Kebbeh, alongside grilled Pork Souvlaki and Beef Kafta Skewers.
Seafood options include Swordfish, Yellowfin Tuna and Poached Prawns, with further vegan and gluten-free choices available throughout the menu.
Chef Levi Mezick, Senior Director of Culinary Program Development at Virgin Voyages, said: “Menus should never stand still. We kept the dishes Sailors love, then pushed them further with bolder flavours, more variety and plenty of surprises. At The Dock, that means leaning into bright, shareable Mediterranean dishes.
“At The Wake, it means creating more distinction between brunch and dinner while expanding the classic steakhouse experience. The favourites are still there, but now there’s even more worth coming back for.”
New selling opportunities for UK travel agents
SJ Walker, UK Market Director at Virgin Voyages, said: “Food is a huge part of the Virgin Voyages experience and one of the things that really sets us apart. For our First Mates, having more than 20 eateries included in the fare, with no speciality dining supplements, is already a fantastic selling point.
“These latest additions give our travel agent partners even more to talk about with their Sailors. Whether it’s the opportunity to enjoy authentic Caribbean cuisine during a day in Bimini or new menus developed with world-class chefs, there’s plenty to inspire first-time Sailors and encourage those who’ve travelled with us before to book their next voyage.”
The refreshed menus at The Wake and The Dock are available now. The updates form part of the line’s ongoing investment in its culinary offering. More than 20 eateries are included in the voyage fare, dishes are prepared fresh to order and menus are created in collaboration with Michelin-starred chefs.
