On 29 April 2022, MSC Virtuosa will return to the UK for the Summer/Autumn season 2022, its “biggest ever season” with 23 sailings departing from Southampton.
MSC Cruises has confirmed that the ship will once again feature all the ‘Best of British’ favourites that guests have come to love on board MSC Cruises ships’ homeporting in the UK.
Additional enhancements include special celebrations for the Queen’s Jubilee and broadcasts of major sporting events including Wimbledon and Premier League fixtures.
Guests can expect the return of kettles, tea & coffee in cabins, afternoon tea, and roast dinners served in the buffet, and British TV channels available in cabins.
The line is also enhancing its entertainment programme, including Street Theatre performances at different locations around the ship, Tribute Acts, Live Musicians, Guest Lecturers, Craft Specialists and a UK Comedian.
The cruise line also has big plans to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee with a programme of events planned including a street party, guest singers, afternoon tea with live entertainment and themed karaoke.
Antonio Paradiso, Managing Director MSC Cruises UK & Ireland said “Over the last five years our presence in the UK & Irish markets has increased significantly and for the second year running we are homeporting one of the biggest ships in the fleet from the UK.
“Our commitment to the UK cruise industry has been clear and we are incredibly proud of our strong relationships with our trade partners and our open dialogue with our customers.”
Of the enhanced onboard experience, he added“We first made product enhancements specific to the UK market back in 2018 and the feedback since then has been great.
“These new additions and further refinement of the experience are based on the valuable feedback from our travel agent partners and our guests.
“Based on this we have delivered new itineraries with more choice, to new destinations and warmer climates, committed to a ship sailing year-round from Southampton and enhanced the onboard proposition further in order to provide British guests with the best possible holiday experience.”
