Vueling Extends Partnership With Save The Children

Vueling has renewed its partnership with Save the Children.

The collaboration agreement is marked with a new in-flight donation campaign that will go to the NGO’s Global Emergency Fund.

The aim of the campaign is to help children who suffer the consequences of wars, live in poverty or are victims of natural disasters and climate change.

The campaign was officiated with a signing ceremony at Vueling’s offices in Barcelona and was attended by Marco Sansavini, CEO of Vueling, and Andrés Conde, CEO of Save the Children.

Beginning July 7 and together with Vueling’s catering provider, Newrest Travel Retail, passengers will be able to make a donation to the cause while onboard.

Crew members will assist passengers who wish to contribute €1, €2 or €3 during in-flight sales and only when paying with a credit or debit card.

Vueling said in a statement that it has raised more than 1 million euros to the cause since 2015.

The money has been allocated to various projects on the Balkan migratory route, such as the opening of safe spaces adapted to the basic needs of babies, pregnant women and nursing mothers so that they can receive accompaniment and support in order to prevent malnutrition.

Activities have also been carried out in kindergartens, as well as educational programs for refugee children in Greece and Melilla and psychological group sessions.

Among the initiatives, the ‘Euro Solidario’ campaign stands out the most – travellers made donations by making an additional “solidarity click” during the purchase process.
