Royal Caribbean International has held its first UK ship visit of the year for the travel trade.
Sixteen homeworking travel customers were invited to experience Anthem of the Seas while the ship was docked in Southampton.
Anthem is currently sailing roundtrip from Southampton on a mix of itineraries including the Norwegian Fjords, the Canary Islands and Mediterranean Beaches & Cities.
The visit included a group tour of the ship with exclusive viewings of many of the different staterooms that are available to guests.
The group enjoyed a ride on the North Star, the observation capsule that takes guests 100 metres above sea level for 360-degree views, followed by lunch at Windjammer Marketplace.
The group also had time to explore the many thrills Anthem has to offer, including the skydiving simulator, RipCord by iFly, the FlowRider surf simulator, and the bumper cars in SeaPlex, the biggest indoor activity space at sea.
Tracy Sutton from InteleTravel commented: “Yesterday was my first ever time on a cruise ship but definitely don’t want it to be my last!
“We were treated so well by all of the staff on board including a lovely lunch. My highlight without a doubt was a ride in the North Star taking us 300ft above sea level and views over to Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight!
“There is so much for everyone to do on Anthem, every age is covered, and the value for money you get is incredible.”

Torey Kings-Hodkin, Head of Sales UK at Royal Caribbean International comments: “It was a pleasure to host some of our travel customers onboard last weekend, several of whom were new to the brand and even new to cruise.
“First-hand experience of our products makes an undeniable difference when it comes to being able to sell our holidays effectively.
“Anthem really is a phenomenal ship, with so much for all the family to do; we’re incredibly lucky to have this breath-taking ship on our doorstep in Southampton this summer and also returning to the UK for summer 2023.”
Further Anthem of the Seas ship visits are scheduled to take place throughout the summer.
