American Cruise Lines Opens 2023 Season

American Cruise Lines is set to launch its 2023 US cruise season with the departure of American Star from Florida on 18 February.

The cruise line said it is running more small ships from US ports than ever before. Two riverboats and two small ships will set sail along the East Coast from Florida and South Carolina, the West Coast from California and the Mississippi River from Louisiana.

Charles B Robertson, President & CEO of American Cruise Lines, said:

“2023 is poised to be the most exciting cruise season ever for American Cruise Lines.

“More small ships exploring in more states than ever before is the best way that I can think of to celebrate 50 years’ cruising American’s waterways.”

On the West Coast, American Jazz will embark on a historic new eight-day cruise from San Francisco on 24 February.

It will be the first US riverboat in over 80 years to explore San Francisco Bay and the California Delta, cruising Wine Country along the Napa, Sacramento, and San Joaquin Rivers.

On the East Coast, the 90-passenger American Star and American Independence will depart on 18 and 25 February respectively.

American Star will begin the season with an eight-day Great Rivers of Florida cruise roundtrip from Jacksonville.

Sister ship American Independence will sail the line’s popular eight-day Historic South & Golden Isles itinerary between Charleston and Amelia Island.

The newly renovated American Heritage, one of the company’s beautiful classic paddle wheelers, begins its 2023 season on the Mississippi River on 25 February following a classic eight-day Lower Mississippi itinerary from New Orleans to Memphis.

Guests can also look forward to five new riverboats and 11 itineraries on the Mississippi in 2023, with over 50 itineraries operating in 35 states.

In 2023, with 17 ships sailing across the country, American Cruise Lines will offer the largest collection of itineraries available for exploring the USA.

American’s small ship itineraries offer an all-inclusive experience and feature over 400 exciting shore excursions across the country.

All cruises deliver incredible value and include complimentary onboard enrichment and entertainment, fine cuisine, wine and beer with both lunch and dinner, and a festive cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres each evening.

All American ships offer 100% outward-facing accommodation, nearly all with private furnished balconies.

Ships also include complimentary room service and WiFi, and many also offer included alternate casual dining venues. 2023-2024 cruise pricing includes port charges and fees as well as gratuities.
