Increased Flights To Antigua and Barbuda This December

Antigua and Barbuda will be ramping up connectivity this winter season as it welcomes increased service from Guadeloupe-based airline, Air Antilles in December.

The airline will be introducing new routes, with twice-weekly services on Monday and Friday from Barbados and St. Lucia. The inaugural flights are scheduled to land at Antigua’s V.C. Bird International Airport, with passengers disembarking a non-stop flight from Barbados, and a one-stop from St. Lucia, effective December 17th, 2021.

Air Antilles will also launch a direct non-stop service twice per week, on Wednesday and Sunday, to Antigua from St. Maarten, with a connection to Guadeloupe.

This service will provide a resumption in airlift to the neighbouring French Caribbean islands, which are key regional markets for Antigua.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Tourism, The Honourable Charles Fernandez said, “As demand for travel returns, Antigua and Barbuda is re-establishing itself as the heartbeat of the Caribbean.

“The connectivity afforded by the integration of another regional carrier into our network, represents an opportunity for us to augment regional travel, and enables us to continue our move towards increasing arrivals from the wider Caribbean market.”

The island had also recently welcomed back Canadian airline WestJet as it resumed service to Antigua and Barbuda for the first time following over a year’s absence.

A total of 94 passengers arrived on the first flight and WestJet will continue a weekly Sunday service to Antigua’s V.C. Bird International Airport until next month when the service will be increased to twice a week.

Antigua and Barbuda now allows fully vaccinated arriving passengers the option of presenting an RT PCR test negative result of four (4) days or fewer from the date of testing, OR an approved Rapid Antigen test negative result of (3) or fewer days from the date of testing to be permitted entry into Antigua and Barbuda.
