The legendary Flying Scotsman is returning to the heritage East Lancashire Railway once again in 2026, three years after it last operated there. Trips on the iconic locomotive are always in high demand and are now on sale with Just Go! Holidays.

Guests will be transported back to the golden age of steam on an unforgettable journey behind the magnificent locomotive for a picturesque steam-hauled adventure.
With a round-trip journey time of approximately 75 minutes, the train will travel from Bury to the charming town of Rawtenstall through beautiful rural panoramas and picture-postcard villages, passing over viaducts and through tunnels.

A two-day trip departing on 6,12 or 14 June 2026 costs from £199 per person (based on two sharing), including coach travel from a choice of pickup points in the South, South East, Midlands, East Anglia, North East & Yorkshire, plus overnight accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Train enthusiasts who live further afield can join a three-day trip for £279pp including return coach travel departing on 12 June from pick up points across the South East, South and South West of the country, plus two nights’ accommodation (based on two sharing) with dinner and breakfast.
Both trips include the train journey plus free time in the market town of Bury and the city of Liverpool.
