The new offering introduces three new itineraries, designed for guests who wish to minimise or bypass the Drake Passage crossing entirely.

Options include flying both into and out of the Antarctic Peninsula from Punta Arenas, sailing in and flying out (Ushuaia to Punta Arenas), or flying in and sailing out (Punta Arenas to Ushuaia), giving travellers the flexibility to reach one of the world’s most extraordinary destinations in full comfort.

“For many, the Drake is considered a rite of passage,” says John McKeon, Founder of Polar Latitudes Expeditions.

“But we recognise it is not for everyone, particularly for those for whom seasickness is a concern. These new Fly & Cruise options will further enable our guests to choose an Antarctica experience that is ideally suited to them – something that has always been at the forefront of how we design our programs.”

All itineraries will operate aboard Ocean Nova, a purpose-built expedition vessel with a maximum capacity of 70 passengers.

Small and nimble enough to navigate Antarctica’s most intimate and pristine landscapes, Ocean Nova carries a superior guide-to-passenger ratio that ensures a highly personalised experience both on and off the ship.

The vessel’s signature Panorama Lounge and adjacent outdoor deck provide exceptional conditions for wildlife viewing.

An Expanding Expedition Portfolio

The Fly & Cruise program is the latest in a series of new offerings from Polar Latitudes Expeditions, as the company continues to broaden both its fleet and its reach.

Recent introductions include voyages into the lesser-explored waters of Scotland, Ireland, and the North Atlantic Isles, alongside expanded itineraries across the Arctic.

The company’s fleet now comprises four purpose-built expedition vessels, each designed to deliver maximum access, comfort, and personalised attention in the world’s most remote regions.

Even as Polar Latitudes Expeditions grows, its defining purpose remains unchanged: to deliver the Polar regions’ most intimate and immersive expedition experience, with the standard of care and expertise that guests have come to expect.
