Brits chasing a real-life Mamma Mia! summer are being urged to head to Lindos, the stunning Greek village that looks straight out of the hit film.

Travel Agent Tana Berry from TUI’s Bolton Market Place Store has visited seven times and says the village, located on the island of Rhodes, ticks every box for a Mamma Mia!-style getaway, as rumours of a third film continue to swirl.
“Lindos is exactly what people picture when they think of Mamma Mia!. You’ve got the whitewashed houses, the stunning views and, most importantly, amazing food – it really is a ‘winner takes it all’ kind of destination,” said Tana.
The postcard-perfect destination is known for its winding cobbled streets, buzzing bars and rooftop restaurants, which is the perfect setting to feel like a true “Dancing Queen” – the ancient Acropolis of Lindos towers above, offering sweeping views across the Aegean Sea.
And it’s not just about the views – the weather delivers too. During peak summer months, temperatures in Rhodes regularly reach around 30°C, meaning long, sun-soaked days that feel straight out of a film scene.
Holidaymakers also won’t have to break the bank to enjoy a night out. In Lindos, a cocktail typically costs around €8–€12, while a local beer can be as little as €4–€6, making it easy to enjoy the island’s lively bar scene.
“I’d suggest going half-board on your accommodation, as there are so many brilliant restaurants that you’ll want to eat somewhere different every night”, said Tana.
When it comes to food, Stefany’s Restaurant is her go-to. “The food is incredible, and there’s so much choice, but you can’t beat a chicken souvlaki,” she says.
And for a night out, Atmosphere Bar delivers. “One night you’re sipping cocktails watching the sunset, the next you’re dancing to live music – it really does feel like your own Mamma Mia! moment” she adds.
For beach days, she recommends Lindos Main Beach, a sandy bay with calm, shallow waters and unbeatable views of the Acropolis.
Tana adds that Lindos is also an ideal choice for a girls’ getaway, thanks to its mix of beach days, great food and lively nightlife.
