Actually Group Announces New Acquisitions In Cumbria and South Wales

The Actually Group, the UK’s only end-to-end holiday park and resort developer has announced new acquisitions in Cumbria and South Wales.

The group will invest £6.5 million across both sites, which have both been purchased.

The acquisitions come on the back of the group’s recent investment in Preseli Lodges and Garden Rooms, based in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.

With a price tag of £1.1m, the sale of the land in Cumbria was completed on 21st February 2022.

The site is close to the attractive market towns of Cockermouth and Workington, which are each just a ten-minute drive. The popular Lake District town of Keswick lies 15 miles to the east.

The Cumbria site was sold with planning permission for 15 holiday lodges and an office.

The Actually Group says it will now invest more than £1m to transform it into an upmarket holiday lodge destination, and work will get underway in the coming weeks. It will welcome its first guests in summer 2022.

With a price tag of £1.5m, the sale of Penrhos Quarry in Caerleon, Usk Valley, completed on 14th February 2022.

The 35-acre site sits on the banks of Afon Lwyd, in the historic town of Caerleon, five miles northeast of Newport.

Just 20 minutes away from Cardiff, Caerleon was home to one of only three permanent military fortresses in Roman Britain, a Roman amphitheatre and baths museum.

The site was sold with planning permission for four holiday lodges, 24 holiday pods, improved access, a maintenance building, and an administration office.

The Actually Group says it will now invest £3m to transform it into an upmarket holiday lodge destination, and work will get underway in the coming months.

It will welcome its first guests in late summer / early autumn 2022.

The manufacturer, which has re-branded as Actually Lodges since it was purchased by the Actually Group in February 2022, will supply the UK-made ultra-low-carbon sustainable luxury lodges for the new sites.

The group, which specialises in low-carbon and environmentally sensitive holiday developments, already owns and operates two sites in North Wales – Rwst Holiday Lodge Park in the Conwy Valley, and Glan Morfa Lodges on Anglesey.

Andy Sutton, CEO at the Actually Group, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming the Cumbria and South Wales sites to the Actually Group portfolio.

“We’re looking forward to creating landmark sustainable staycation destinations which will each complement their beautiful natural settings and inspire more visitors to come and explore these exceptionally beautiful regions of the UK.”
