AmaWaterways says it will incentivise agents to capitalise on the anticipated surge in French river cruise reservations during the Olympics.
Travel agents making a reservation for any French itinerary during the Olympics and Paralympics (26th July to 8th September) will be entered into a draw.
The winner will enjoy a complimentary European cruise of their choice for two people.
The agent taking silver will win a case of French wine, while the person in the bronze position will receive a £50 love2Shop voucher.
Additionally, the travel agency making the most French river cruise reservations over this period will enjoy a celebratory evening out, up to a value of £250.
Winners will be announced via AmaWaterways’ Trade Facebook page on Thursday 13th September.
The luxury river cruise line said in a statement that it is already seeing strong demand for its French itineraries, reporting that reservations were up 158% in the first half of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023.
In order to meet demand, the company has introduced a new ‘Flavours of Burgundy’ itinerary for 2024, as well as a fourteen night ‘Grand Seine & Bordeaux’ option for 2025.
Andrea Stafford, Sales Director at AmaWaterways said: “The agent community has a great opportunity to capitalise on France’s high profile and not only earn themselves commission but win prizes too.
“AmaWaterways operates a choice of seven French itineraries across five ships, more than any other luxury river cruise line.
“In my view, clients are wanting a more in-depth river cruising experience at a slower pace and a complete cultural immersion in a specific region.
“With timeless vineyards and iconic chateaux as well as beautiful countryside and fascinating towns and cities, France offers a multitude of fascinating river cruise experiences.
“Strong rail connections also make it a great option for guests looking for a flight-free holiday.”
In order to qualify for the draw, agents simply need to reserve a French river cruise with AmaWaterways.
Winners will be drawn at random, and the more bookings agents make, the more opportunities they have to win.
To help travel partners maximise reservations during this period, AmaWaterways has produced a wide range of marketing materials including social reels, imagery, videos and offers. There will also be dedicated training sessions by AmaWaterways’ Business Development Managers and a France-themed webinar on Thursday 25th July.
