In order to support the economic recovery and tourism industry of Houston, Texas, US, as soon as possible, Airbnb and Houston First collaborate to campaign for “Rediscover Houston”. The campaign is aimed at boosting the tourism industry in the city without neglecting health protocols.

The campaign will be followed by unique city neighbourhoods, tree-lined streets of Montrose, and a variety of art galleries to delicious eateries in the Midtown area. That means prioritising natural and culinary tourism in the campaign.

Airbnb, a developer of a global accommodation services platform based in San Francisco, will send e-mails promoting Houston tourism and suitable places to stay to its users at home.

That’s consistent with the results of an Airbnb survey showing that people prefer to travel this year with family and friends, with more than half choosing domestic destinations over distant and uncertain international destinations.

“We hope this campaign encourages Houston residents to support small businesses and people who rely on tourism,” said Jose Luis Briones, Airbnb’s Public Policy Manager for Texas, in Houston, Tuesday (9/3).

The Rediscover Houston campaign is also part of a strategy to boost the confidence of regional tourists to safely explore and enjoy all the amazing things in Houston.

“Rebuilding a stronger and more resilient hospitality community is our priority,” said Michael Heckman, President and CEO of Houston First, managing the performing arts and convention facilities in Houston. The campaign is believed to be a success because Airbnb has a large number of users who are likely to be targeted for promotion.
