Avelo Airlines, an American low-cost airline headquartered in Houston, Texas, began flying its first new route between Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) on Wednesday (28/4) morning.
The flight to and from Los Angeles and Southern California took more than 90 minutes. Andrew Levy, Chairman, and CEO of Avelo Airlines said the flights would be continued every day with low fares starting from US$19.
The flight route will be served using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, one of the most fuel-efficient commercial aircraft, with a capacity of 189 passengers. “We are excited to bring our low fares to Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, and the Greater Bay Area,” said Levy.
With the opening of the new route, it is hoped that it will help boost the number of travelers to bypass Bay Area traffic. They can land in the heart of California’s wine-growing and directly at the gates of the beautiful Pacific coastline.
“Congratulations to Avelo Airlines starting service from BUR,” said Frank Miller, Executive Director of Hollywood Burbank Airport. “We would love to welcome their customers from Santa Rosa as they find it the most comfortable way to visit Los Angeles and Southern California.”
