CLIA has announced this year’s annual charity bike ride.
Twelve cyclists from across the cruise industry are taking part to raise funds for the Family Holiday Charity (FHC).
The ride, which takes place next month, will see participants pedal either 10, 50, 70 or 100 miles across the New Forest.
All funds raised will be donated to the FHC, a non-profit organisation which provides British seaside visits and day trips to struggling families.
CLIA said that previous fundraising efforts have allowed hundreds of parents and children to take a short break from home.
The initial fundraising target of £10,000 will enable around 40 families to enjoy a short break.
The cyclists confirmed so far are:

- Rob Scott, P&O Cruises
- Robbie White, Touchdown
Giles Hawke, CEO at Cosmos Tours and Cruises and Avalon Waterways UK, who is helping to organise the ride, said:
“Now, more than ever, families are trying to find the money for a well-deserved getaway, even if it’s just for a brief period of time.
“The current climate will only make things worse, so we’re really hoping that anyone who’s in a position to help will get behind us and make a donation to the FHC, no matter how small.
“Every penny raised really will make all the difference to the quality of life for people living with real hardship.”

“We know just how vital it is to give access to the breaks they organise and it’s incredibly moving to hear the positive differences they make with our donations.”
The route around the New Forest, organised by UK Cycling Events, provides formal marshalling support and safety measures; food stops en route; a finisher’s medal and event photographers.
There is a special discount for entry to the ride and a social media hashtag at #TeamCLIACycle22. Further cyclists are welcome.
