2027 Expedition Showcase

CLIA Confirms 2027 Expedition Showcase Details

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has confirmed that applications for its 2027 Expedition Showcase will open on November 5. The event will feature seven ships, including two making their debut.

All details correct at the time of publication (29 October 2026).

The showcase will take place in Longyearbyen, in the Svalbard archipelago, from July 2-6. The destination is a key departure point for Arctic expedition cruises.

Agents will have the chance to explore this iconic destination. The programme will also include business sessions, product training and select dinners.

Seven ships confirmed for the showcase

Delegates can look forward to hosted ship visits from the following expedition cruise operators:

  • 66 Expeditions
  • AE Expeditions
  • HX Expeditions
  • Polar Latitudes Expeditions
  • Ponant
  • Quark Expeditions
  • Swan Hellenic

Two operators, 66 Expeditions and HX Expeditions, are new to the Svalbard line-up.

Flights and accommodation included

Getting to this remote destination is made easier with a dedicated event package. CLIA has arranged return flights between Oslo and Longyearbyen with SAS Scandinavian Airlines.

The package also includes airport transfers and four nights’ accommodation with breakfast. However, delegates must arrange their own travel to and from Oslo. This gives them the flexibility to choose their preferred home airport.

This will be the third CLIA Expedition Showcase. Both previous editions also took place in Svalbard.

Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland Managing Director, said: “Our Expedition Showcase gives travel agents the chance to develop their knowledge of this specialist sector, meet expedition cruise operators and experience the ships and destination first-hand.

“Returning to Svalbard means agents can gain practical insight into Arctic expedition cruising, from life onboard to the destinations and excursions available. We want delegates to leave with greater confidence in discussing expedition cruises with their customers and a clearer understanding of the sales opportunities they present.”

CLIA continues its expedition cruise training

The announcement comes during CLIA’s ‘A Week of Expedition’ webinar series. The programme features daily destination-focused sessions, hosted in collaboration with cruise line members.

Today’s session focused on the Arctic. Australia and the South Pacific will follow, with the Galapagos completing the programme over the next two days.

CLIA annual conference returns in 2027

CLIA has also confirmed that places remain available for its annual conference in Southampton. The event will take place from May 13-15, 2027.

The conference will feature a refreshed format, with business sessions, an extended trade fair and themed workshops. Delegates can also look forward to ship visits.
