Though Covid-19 restrictions have made visiting these countries a challenge, borders are now open for many UK travellers, with restrictions being lifted for those wishing to visit Europe in the upcoming months.

Andorra

- All travellers are required to transit via France or Spain. You must check and adhere to any entry requirements for these countries prior to departure.

- Face masks are mandatory for all those over the age of 7 in enclosed public spaces, including (but not limited to) bars, shops and restaurants.
- Evidence of either full vaccination, Covid-19 recovery or a negative Covid-19 test result is required upon entry into most public places.

Austria

- Fully vaccinated travellers over the age of 12 must present valid proof of vaccination.
- Those who are not fully vaccinated must present a valid negative Covid-19 test or a certificate of Covid-19 recovery. Visitors over the age of 18 who are unvaccinated and unrecovered can only enter Belgium for essential reasons.
Upon Arrival
- Face masks must be worn by all above the age of 12 on public transport and inside health facilities.

Bulgaria

Finland

- Fully vaccinated travellers must provide valid proof of Covid-19 vaccination, with the final dose administered at least 7 days prior to arrival.
- Travellers who have received at least one dose of a valid Covid-19 vaccine and with proof of recovery certificate, will be considered fully vaccinated by the Finnish authorities.
- Unvaccinated travellers will not be permitted entry without an essential reason for travel.
Upon Arrival
- Face masks are recommended on public transport, as well as in areas where social distancing cannot be adhered to.

Germany

- Unvaccinated travellers under the age of 12 are permitted entry with a valid negative Covid-19 test result and must be accompanied by at least one fully vaccinated parent.
- Unvaccinated travellers are currently unable to enter Germany without an urgent need to travel.

- Restrictions vary across each state, so you must research and adhere to the local rules and guidelines.
- Medical grade face masks are mandatory in hospitals and on public transport.

Hungary

- Some venues may have a CovidCheck system upon entry, meaning you must have either a certificate of vaccination, recovery, or a valid negative Covid-19 test.
- Face coverings are mandatory inside enclosed public spaces.
- Many public places must close by 11pm, including (but not limited to) bars, restaurants, cinemas and nightclubs.

Moldova

- All visitors are advised to carry out a self-test on the day of arrival, and again on day 5.

North Macedonia

Poland

Portugal

- Unvaccinated travellers over the age of 11 must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test (taken no more than 72 hours before arrival), or a negative rapid lateral flow test (taken no more than 24 hours before arrival). Those with a Covid-19 recovery certificate will be allowed entry without a test result.
- If travelling to Madeira no tests are required regardless of vaccination status.
Upon Arrival
- Face masks are mandatory on public transport and inside healthcare facilities.
- Some regions of Portugal require visitors to present a Covid-19 pass upon entry to many public venues, including (but not limited to) restaurants, bars, nightclubs and gyms. This can be obtained with either proof of vaccination, proof of recovery, or a valid negative Covid-19 test result.

Romania

San Marino

- Travellers arriving via an Italian red or orange zone are only permitted into San Marino for essential reasons. Entering from a white or yellow zone is allowed for tourism purposes.
- Vaccinated travellers must provide valid proof of vaccination upon entry.
- Unvaccinated travellers must present either proof of Covid-19 recovery, or a valid negative Covid-19 test result.
Upon Arrival
- Face masks are required in all public spaces, including outdoors where social distancing of at least 1 metre cannot be adhered to.

Serbia

- Fully vaccinated travellers must provide valid proof of vaccination prior to travel. You will also be deemed fully vaccinated if 14 days have passed since receiving the first dose of a vaccine within 180 days of recovery from Covid-19.
- Unvaccinated travellers will only be allowed entry for essential reasons (tourism not included).

- FFP2 standard masks are mandatory in all healthcare facilities.

Sweden
