Walt Disney World has announced several closures across the resort ahead of Hurricane Milton this week.
The news was published on wdwnt.com, which stated that the closure would include the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which was originally planned for October 10.
The event, which was set to be held Thursday night at Magic Kingdom, is now cancelled. Guests with tickets to the event will be fully refunded.
The announcement marks the second Halloween party to be cancelled due to a hurricane, with the first being cancelled in September due to Hurricane Helene.
Guests with bookings to a Walt Disney World hotel from now until October 14 can cancel their reservations without penalty thanks to Disney’s extended cancellation and change fee policy.
Disney has shared the following message via the Disney Travel Agents website:
“It is likely the theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10. We will consider opening Disney Springs Thursday late afternoon with limited offerings. This includes the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom on Oct. 10. Event tickets will be refunded.”
Both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort will be closed due to the hurricane. The parks will close early on Wednesday and will remain closed throughout Thursday due to Hurricane Milton.
Meanwhile, Disney Cruise Line has also cancelled the Friday embarkation of the Disney Wish which was set to depart Port Canaveral on October 11.
