Emerald Sakara Departs Athens On Inaugural Sailing

Share this:

Emerald Cruises’ second luxury yacht, Emerald Sakara, has departed Athens on her sold-out inaugural sailing.

Sister yacht Emerald Azzurra officially welcomed her to the fleet as the twin ships embarked on sailing through the Corinth Canal.

Under the stewardship of Captain Jonathan Edwards, Emerald Sakara is now sailing the eight-day Ionian Sea Adventure Itinerary from Athens to Rome.

Although nearly identical to her sister yacht, Emerald Sakara’s interiors feature enhancements from furniture brands like Tribu and Gervasoni, lighting by designer Tom Dixon and collaboration between Freifrau and Missoni.

Technology upgrades include Starlink internet services.

The yacht will embark on a summer season exploring the coastal waters of Italy, Greece and the Adriatic.

From there, it is off across the Atlantic where both Emerald Sakara and Emerald Azzurra will winter in the warm waters of the Caribbean and Central America.

Emerald Sakara will be christened in San Juan, Puerto Rico on 2 December, with godmother Kelly Craighead, President, and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) doing the honours.

Guests can join Emerald Sakara on the Highlights of Southern Italy itinerary, from £3,060 per person based on a 21st October 2023 departure.

They can also choose to enjoy some winter sun in the Caribbean from £3,195 per person based on an eight-day Eastern Caribbean and Grenadines sailing departing on 16 December 2023.
