Andrea D’Amico, the former MD EMEA at Booking.com has joined WeRoad as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Andrea brings with him 18 years of experience. At Booking.com, he launched several countries and rose to the position of Vice President and Managing Director EMEA, with a team of 1,500 people in 90 offices.
“Andrea is the person we were looking for: a manager with solid experience in the travel tech sector on an international scale who could take the company to the next level” commented Paolo De Nadai, co-founder of WeRoad.
WeRoad had also announced an “ambitious” international expansion plan, which will see the company enter multiple markets including Germany, France, all of DACH, Benelux and the Nordics from next year.
In an official statement, WeRoad said that the appointment “is the natural continuation of the company’s development and growth strategy at the European level”.
Andrea said that he is “happy” to be joining WeRoad and to bring his experience to a company with an “innovative business model”.
