The list includes destinations experiencing a rise in popularity, places becoming more accessible and destinations with a reason to celebrate in 2027.

G Adventures is taking a different approach: getting travellers off the beaten path within popular destinations, connecting them with locally owned businesses and experiences, and directing tourism dollars to communities and regions beyond the usual hotspots.

Eight destinations to watch in 2027:

CHINA: Go beyond the Great Wall
With UK traveller numbers up 67%* year on year and a new visa-free entry policy for Brits, China is opening up fresh ways to explore its extraordinary history, from restricted Mogao Grottoes to the ancient Silk Road.

G Adventures has responded by adding nine new trips, including this new 19-day Signature: China From the Great Wall to Shangri-La trip taking travellers into the remote northwest where the ancient Silk Road meets vast desert landscapes, starting from £9,699 per person**.

THE STANS: Discover the Silk Road differently
With Uzbekistan bookings up 71%* and Kyrgyzstan up 27%* for UK travellers, Central Asia is firmly on the radar. Go beyond the headline sights to discover dramatic mountain landscapes, lakeside trails, family-run experiences and the traditions of communities along the Silk Road.

The 26-day 18-to-Thirtysomethings The Stans: The Ultimate Adventure through the Silk Road experiences the destination as an explorer rather than a tourist and starts from £3,099 per person**

SRI LANKA: Get under the island’s skin
British Airways is launching a new three-times-weekly service from London Gatwick to Colombo from October 2026 and Sri Lanka’s government has set a target of four million tourist arrivals annually by 2030.

Beyond its beaches and major attractions, G Adventures travellers can stay in a secluded nature chalet, meet local farming communities and discover the flavours of Sri Lankan cooking. The 12-day Sri Lanka Encompassed itinerary starts from £1,799 per person**

THE BALKANS: Europe’s next great adventure frontier
With UK passenger numbers to Albania up 64%*, the region is attracting adventurous travellers looking for a different side of Europe.

Think alpine mountain trails, traditional guesthouses, lively bazaars and spectacular wilderness. The nine-day Hiking in Albania, Kosovo & Montenegro tour starts from £1,549 per person**.

GREECE: Look beyond the expected
Greece’s appeal stretches far beyond its famous islands. With five new G Adventures trips launching, travellers can explore lesser-visited regions, including the legendary landscapes around the newly-appointed UNESCO World Heritage site, Mount Olympus.

From mountain trails and traditional villages to its iconic coastline, G Adventures encourages travellers to explore at a slower pace and discover lesser-visited regions, helping spread the benefits of tourism to more communities across the country. The seven-day Hiking Northern Greece trip starts from £1,429 per person**

NEW ZEALAND: Where fiction meets real-life adventure
With the country’s extraordinary landscapes providing the backdrop for major productions including The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum and The Legend of Zelda, and an expanding air network, New Zealand is set to draw fresh attention.

From remote conservation sanctuaries and wild river adventures to Māori culture, it’s a destination made for getting off the beaten track. The eight-day New Zealand – North Island Multisport trips start from £1,749 per person**.

DOMINICA: Discover the Caribbean beyond the beach
This lush island is all waterfalls, volcanic peaks and rainforest, with a new international airport expected to improve access in 2027.

Travellers can connect with Kalinago culture, explore wild landscapes and even join responsible encounters with sperm whales. The eight-day Dominica: Waterfalls, Volcanic Peaks & Kalinago Culture trip starts from £2,599**.

THE SEYCHELLES: Trade the sun lounger for adventure
A new multi-island adventure brings a different perspective on the Seychelles, introducing the Indian Ocean archipelago to a different type of travellers.

Combining hikes through lush landscapes, kayaking and catamaran sailing with time to discover the islands’ unique nature and giant tortoises, this eight-day Seychelles: Valle de Mai, Curieuse Island & the Shores of Anse Lazio starts from £3,749 per person**.
