G Adventures Welcomes First Custom-Built Catamaran

G Adventures has welcomed the first custom-built catamaran to its fleet of vessels in the Galapagos Islands.

The Reina Silvia Voyager offers enhanced accommodation options, with 10 spacious cabins split over two decks, including two dedicated solo cabins.

The company said in a statement that the ship will be among the most comfortable vessels of its size in the archipelago.

Yves Marceau, Global Vice President of Product at G Adventures says the addition of the Reina Silvia Voyager will allow G Adventures to cater to the rise in travellers seeking bigger-ticket adventures and more from their holiday time.

“The pandemic has made many of us rethink how we holiday. We’re seeing a very high demand for those once-in-a-lifetime adventures such as the Galapagos as travellers commit to those trips they’ve long dreamt about.

“The Galapagos has ranked consistently among our top three most popular destinations for British travellers over the past six months as travellers are drawn to the diverse wildlife, biodiversity and landscapes of the archipelago.

“We’re also seeing a rise in travellers seeking solo cabin options, driven not only by more solo travellers but also those wanting their own personal space.

“The Reina Silvia Voyager is our first vessel to feature dedicated solo cabins, offering a much more affordable option for those wanting to room alone,” he continues.

Running across the central, east and west islands, the 103-foot Reina Silvia Voyager offers four itineraries, ranging from eight to ten days including Quito.

The ship can accommodate up to 16 passengers, with eight cabins for twin or double stays, and two solo cabins catering to individual travellers.

Eight rooms offer private balconies – all rooms have panoramic windows for optimal ocean viewing, private bathrooms, bright, contemporary furnishings, artwork by local naturalist photographers, and energy-saving LED lighting.

Common areas on board will include an expansive third deck with lounge chairs for sunbathing, a covered cocktail bar, a grill station and an outdoor Jacuzzi tub.

An indoor, air-conditioned salon with a large video screen will enable visual presentations from specially trained naturalists.

The Reina Silvia Voyager also comes with eight onboard kayaks and two zodiacs for guests’ guided use.

A crew of ten, including a dedicated chef and G Adventures Chief Experience Officer, will serve guests daily.
