Lucca’s only five-star hotel, Grand Universe Lucca, is now offering a ‘Solo and Spritzing’ package to help individual visitors embrace the stunning Italian city solo.
The package is in response to The Association of British Travel Agents’ report of a 10% increase in individual trips between 2011 and 2023.
Also known as the city of a hundred and one churches, Lucca is one of the most beloved places in all of Tuscany and ideally located for day trips to Pisa and Florence, with plenty to do and see in the city.
Guests can explore stunning Medieval and Renaissance architecture or mark the 100th anniversary of the death of composer Puccini with a visit to the Puccini Museum and enjoy nightly Puccini concerts in the local San Giovanni church.
Grand Universe Lucca is offering a package including a two-night stay, daily American breakfast, Aperol Spritz on arrival and a ‘Bites and Bikes’ experience which includes bicycle hire and a picnic lunch including Tuscan flatbread sandwiches and wine for one between February and December.
Guests will also have the opportunity to be upgraded to the luxurious Grand Universe La Residenza, depending on availability, to enjoy their own solo suite during their time in the city.
The Grand Universe Lucca Solo and Spritzing package is available from €213 per night including a daily American breakfast, bikes and bites experience for one person and the ingredients to build an Aperol Spritz on arrival.

Offer pricing is dependent on month:
- €213 per room per night in February, March, November and December (excluding New Year’s Eve) based on one adult in a Piccolo room
- €241 per room per night in April and August based on one adult in a Piccolo room
- €307 per room per night in May, June, July, September and October based on one adult in a Piccolo room
