Although this summer is looking to be more hopeful, there is still a lot of uncertainty. Travel operators have therefore turned their attention to Summer 2022, with the intention of guests booking longer holidays for larger groups of people.
Thomas Cook’s 2021 bookings have been overtaken by bookings for 2022.
Jet2holidays’ booking data also shows that more people have booked for summer 2022 with Turkey, Cyprus and Greece taking top spots for popularity.
TUI also claimed bookings for May 2022 were already up 150% on May this year.
Chief executive of Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy said: “There is a huge desire amongst UK holidaymakers to get away on their holidays and this is clear in the demand for both summer ‘21 and summer ‘22 holidays.”
Customers are also booking luxury breaks after missing out on overseas holidays during the pandemic.
