Hong Kong and Singapore Air Travel Bubble Abandoned

The governments of Hong Kong and Singapore will no longer pursue plans for the much-delayed Air Travel Bubble between the two destinations.

Due to start in November 2020, it had been delayed due to a spike in Covid cases in Hong Kong, and reset for 26th May 2021, only for it to be postponed again due to a spike in cases, this time in Singapore.

Both countries have now released statements confirming that further discussions will no longer be pursued.

Singapore has however announced that it will unilaterally allow quarantine-free entry of travellers from Hong Kong from 2359 on 20th August.

Restrictions remain in place for travellers arriving into Hong Kong from Singapore.
