In the midst of the many airlines that lost money due to the pandemic, a new airline was born, named Avelo Airlines. Avelo first flew on Wednesday (8/4) from Hollywood Burbank Airport to 11 routes in the Western US.
Avelo is one of the airlines by positioning itself as a low-cost airline every day. During the introduction, Avelo offered fares starting at US $ 19 per flight on all routes.
Even though it is cheap, Avelo wants to be an airline that can provide a comfortable and caring travel experience. “Avelo has a simple goal—to Inspire Travel,” said Andrew Levy, founder, Chairman and CEO of Avelo Airlines, in California, Wednesday (8/4).
Avelo is also led by management who collectively have experience in the aviation industry for more than 200 years. Levy leads Avelo with experience as co-founder and CEO of Allegiant Air and CFO of United Airlines.
Former executives from Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Northwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines also joined forces to lead Avelo. Avelo is scheduled to fly regularly starting April 28.
