Borgo Egnazia

Last-Minute Easter Offer At Borgo Egnazia

Families are swapping the summer rush for an April getaway. With Easter falling later than usual this year, the timing couldn’t be better to visit Puglia, with spring sunshine, fewer fellow travellers, and nature in full bloom.

Puglia has a long and ancient tradition of religious holidays, and as such, Easter in Puglia is no ordinary affair. It’s a moment to pause, spend time with family, and get stuck in the rhythms of nature and tradition.

At Borgo Egnazia, this means long lunches under the open sky, countryside picnics framed by olive groves, and a cultural calendar filled with local rituals.

April’s mild temperatures make it the ideal time to explore the region – wildflowers carpet the landscape, and the Adriatic starts to beckon swimmers back in for the first of the season’s dip.

THE MAIN EVENT(S)

In the nearby town of Fasano,  a centuries-old Easter tradition takes place: the Cantata all’Uovo.

As midnight strikes on Holy Saturday, groups of musicians roam the town, singing beneath doorways in exchange for fresh eggs—an ancient custom that still binds the community together.

Guests at Borgo Egnazia are invited to witness this ritual first-hand, stepping into the heart of Puglian culture for an evening steeped in history.

Easter Sunday at Borgo Egnazia is an event in itself and is almost worth travelling for alone. Tables spill out into the main piazza, where a long, leisurely lunch unfolds in the warm spring air.

The following day—Pasquetta—is reserved for a more relaxed, seaside affair at Cala Masciola with freshly grilled seafood, crisp local wines, and the endless blue horizon as a backdrop.

THIS YEAR’S ANNUAL THEME: FLOWERS

This year, Borgo Egnazia’s Easter theme is deeply rooted in the season’s natural beauty, with flowers taking centre stage.

Through a partnership with CLARA, guests can partake in a unique Flower Hunt – an off-the-beaten-track journey through Puglia in vintage cars, stopping at hidden meadows and olive groves.

For those drawn to artisanal crafts, floral workshops offer the chance to create keepsakes using age-old techniques.

Whether pressing wildflowers to make intricate bookmarks or mastering the delicate art of wax flower sculpting, these experiences reconnect guests with the timeless skills of Puglia’s artisans.

THE REAL HEART OF BORGO EGNAZIA AT EASTER: FAMILY

For families, Borgo Egnazia has curated a dedicated programme for children of all ages.

At the Marinai & Tarantari Club, younger guests can hone in on their creativity with floral-themed cooking classes, clay modelling workshops, and Easter egg decorating sessions infused with local tradition.

For curious animal lovers, the on-site petting farm gives children the chance to get up close with animals and discover rural Puglian life while learning the importance of respecting nature. There’s even a treasure hunt on Easter Monday—an adventure through the Borgo’s winding alleyways and fragrant gardens.
