Aligning with the growing trend of nocturnal tourism, this new activity guides guests through Takuapa’s mangrove waterways beneath the moonlight.
Customers can explore Thailand’s natural beauty after dark and reconnect with its hidden wilderness – alive with nocturnal life, whispering roots and a deep sense of tranquillity.
Departing from The Sarojin at 18:15 and returning by 21:00, the Little Amazon Night Safari takes guests on a serene canoe journey through the mangroves, led by expert local guides.
The private excursion, available from 2,550 THB (approx. £59) per person, includes private transfers and guiding services, with advance booking required.
By exploring quietly alongside local communities, guests help to preserve Takuapa’s fragile mangrove ecosystem while supporting those who protect it.
Just a short drive from the resort, the ‘Little Amazon’ or Sang Ne Canal earned its name from its lush, jungle-like beauty and the dramatic tree canopies that arch over the water.
The area is rich in wildlife, from Sunda slow lorises and Brown Boobooks to tarantulas, snakes, kingfishers and hornbills, while the wetlands provide vital nursery grounds for juvenile fish, crabs, shrimp and molluscs.
“We wanted to create an experience that captures the quiet magic of Thailand’s mangroves after dark while supporting the people and environments that make this region so special”, says The Sarojin’s Owner Kate Kemp.
“It’s the perfect blend of luxury, discovery and purpose that today’s travellers are seeking and we strive to provide.”
Through its wider Sarojin Cares initiatives, including the One Booking One Tree reforestation programme, The Sarojin continues to champion travel with purpose.
Experiences such as the Little Amazon Night Safari allow guests to immerse themselves in nature while leaving a positive legacy – perfectly embodying the resort’s philosophy of sustainable luxury and heartfelt community connection.
