Malta Drops All Covid-19 Entry Restrictions

Malta no longer requires travellers to present a vaccination, recovery, or test certificate upon arrival.

The new rule will come into effect on 25 July 2022, meaning that all travellers, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, will be permitted restriction-free entry into Malta, regardless of country of origin.

A statement from Visit Malta states the following: “As from July 25, 2022, people travelling to Malta without a vaccine certificate or a recovery certificate do not need to present a negative PCR/Rapid Test before arriving in Malta.”

Before 25 July, all passengers entering Malta are required to present either a valid vaccination certificate, a negative PCR test taken within the last 72 hours, or a negative rapid antigen test taken within the last 24 hours.

Malta joins Australia, Portugal and Greece – all three countries have also recently dropped Covid-19 restrictions for both vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers entering the countries.
