NatGeo-Lindblad Hosts First UK FAM in Galápagos

National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions recently hosted its first-ever fam trip for UK agents – a nine-night Showcase at Sea in the Galápagos Islands, which took in all four ships in the Galápagos fleet and highlighted Lindblad Expeditions’ pioneering heritage with nearly 60 years of experience in this destination.

The trip was hosted by Danielle Bates, Head of UK Sales representing National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions co-brand, and the nine agents came from Panache Cruises, Mundy Cruising, Travel Counsellors, Latin Routes, Iglu and Fred. Olsen Travel. A representative from the Expedition Cruise Network also attended.

The group joined National Geographic Endeavour II’s 10-day Exploring Galápagos expedition, during which they enjoyed activities such as deep water snorkelling, kayaking, photography instruction and hikes.

Also included are visits to the Charles Darwin Centre and a giant tortoise sanctuary, beach walks, a sunset wine-tasting, time in ‘town’, a deck BBQ and a party onboard to celebrate crossing the equator.

They also visited the three other ships in the Galápagos fleet, learned about the Explorers in Training programme for kids and teens and had a tour of Quito with site inspections of the three hotels that the company offers.

Danielle Bates, Head of UK Sales, representing National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions co-brand, comments: “Our trade partners are vital to our continued growth in the UK and this Showcase at Sea not only underscores our commitment to supporting them but acts as a catalyst for what we expect to deliver in 2026 and beyond.

“We have a wonderful offering in this part of the world, and it was such an amazing opportunity to introduce the agents to the destination and our entire fleet.

“This was my second visit to the Galápagos, and seeing it through other people’s eyes for the first time made it even more special. It is a magical destination that provided numerous emotional moments for each of the participants. It really is a transformative travel experience.”
