TreeDwellers, the collection of seven extraordinary treehouses within the 1,700-acre ancient woodland of Cornbury Estate, Oxfordshire, has partnered with The Wild Sauna at Whichford Mill to launch a rejuvenating programme to appeal to the growing demand for elemental, nature-based restoration experiences.

The “Wild & Well” collaboration arrives as UK wellness tourism shifts away from prescriptive detox programmes toward immersive, grounding experiences for holistic wellbeing as a new year reset.
Set on the banks of the River Stour in a secluded Cotswolds valley, the partnership combines forest immersion with water-based wellness, including a wood-fired sauna and hot tub, offering guests a counterpoint to January’s typical gym-and-detox narrative.
A New Approach to Post-Festive Recovery
The Wild Sauna began with founders converting work boats into homes on the Sussex coast for 20 years before lockdown prompted them to transform a 1960s horsebox into a wood-lined sauna.
After wild swimming boomed during the pandemic, they relocated to Whichford Mill, drawn by its abundance of springs and the ancient meanders of the River Stour.
The two-night package combines TreeDwellers’ elevated treehouse accommodation, including a complimentary bath ritual featuring bath fizzes, Epsom salts, body butter, and a clay face mask, as well as preferential access to The Wild Sauna’s riverside facilities.
This includes the converted horsebox sauna, wood-fired hot tub, and spring-fed plunges. TreeDwellers guests enjoy a pot of foraged herbal teas on arrival.
Tim Rees, Founder and CEO of TreeDwellers, said: “We don’t do retreat – retreat suggests moving backwards. At TreeDwellers, we move forward.
“This partnership with The Wild Sauna represents that philosophy perfectly: using elemental experiences – forest, water, heat, cold – to help guests transition from high-alert beta brainwaves to calm alpha brainwaves.
“It’s not about punishment or restriction; it’s about genuine restoration during what’s traditionally a challenging season.”
Lucy Gillkeeling, Co-founder of The Wild Sauna, adds: “After years of cold plunging nearly every day, we understand the magic combination of hot sauna and cold water.
“With Romanian-tinged design revamps and spring-fed plunges, we’ve created something that reconnects people to their bodies and to nature.
“Combined with TreeDwellers’ ancient woodland setting, this partnership offers a complete elemental reset.”
