Norse Atlantic’s inaugural Berlin-Fort Lauderdale flight took off on December 7, marking the airline’s second route from FLL airport in six months.
Flights between FLL and Berlin will operate three days a week with one-way fares starting from $155.
The take-off was witnessed by FLL CEO/Director of Aviation, Mark Gale, Broward County Commissioner, Michael Udine, Visit Lauderdale EVP, Tony Cordo, and Norse CEO, Bjorn Tore Larsen.
The flight from FLL to Berlin, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, departed at 11:30 PM and touched down at 2:40 PM local time in Berlin following a ten-hour flight time.
Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways, said: “Norse continues to deliver on our promise to offer affordable value and a quality traveling experience to all.
“Berlin is a delightful winter destination where travelers can enjoy the snow, Christmas lights, holiday treats, shopping and more.
“Our affordable fares will allow our customers to use their extra travel dollars to explore Germany and experience new and unique adventures with family and friends.
“As we celebrate our inaugural service from Fort Lauderdale tonight, we are pleased to now be able to offer direct flights between these two cities.”
Mark Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation, said: “It’s an exciting day for FLL as we welcome the airport’s first-ever scheduled nonstop route to Berlin.
“Norse’s new service between Fort Lauderdale and Germany’s capital city follows its June launch of Oslo, Norway flights. Both routes play a pivotal role in helping reestablish FLL as a transatlantic gateway.
“We look forward to welcoming other European flights in the near future.”
Norse Atlantic offers two cabin choices, Economy and Premium, and a simple range of fares, Light, Classic, and Plus.
