Palma de Mallorca has announced the return of its popular “TaPalma” Gastronomic Festival this November with a tapas and cocktail contest on the 20th of November and a gastronomic route from the 22nd until the 26th of November.
The tapas route will take guests around the city to discover some of Palma de Mallorca’s most unique neighbourhoods, from Santa Catalina and Portixol to Paseo Maritimo. A “TaPalma” app is now available for guests to download and a tapa catalogue.
‘TaPalma’ will showcase the rich gastronomic heritage of Palma de Mallorca, offering an exciting fusion of traditional and contemporary flavours by bringing together the best chefs and bartenders on the island.
The festival this year will showcase three different categories: best tapa; best cocktail; and best-themed tapa. The contest itself will be held at Palau de Congressos de Palma, a stunning building inspired by the city´s Mediterranean surroundings.
Chef Igor Rodrigez will be leading the judging panel together with the renowned chef José Cortés, president of The Association of Affiliated Chefs in the Balearic Islands.
More than 50 bars and restaurants will offer a special menu of only €4 for 3 tapas including a beer to celebrate the occasion.
