Portugal Joins Malta in Restricting Access to Vaccinated UK Travellers

Portugal and Malta are now only allowing fully vaccinated British holidaymakers to visit quarantine-free.

Anyone travelling to the mainland Portugal by air, sea or land will have to prove they have had two jabs at least 15 days prior to arrival. These changes were introduced by the Portuguese government and are likely to last until 11th July.

Those who arrive in Malta from 30th June will have to quarantine for 14 days if they are unable to prove they have had two jabs.

However, British travellers with both does of the vaccine at least 15 days prior to travel will be exempt from showing a PCR test on entry to the Portuguese island of Madeira, which goes onto the green ‘watch list’ from 4am on Wednesday alongside the Balearics and Caribbean islands such as Barbados.
