Princess Cruises, a cruise operator under the auspices of Carnival Corporation & Plc based in Santa Clara, California, decided to postpone the seven-day voyage of two ships Emerald Princess and Majestic Princess until June 27.
For passengers who have already booked, Princess Cruises is offering to transfer to the equivalent cruise ship in 2022. As compensation, Princess Cruises will calculate 100% of the incoming payment plus a cruise credit of 10% which can be used on the next voyage until December 31, 2022.
If they don’t want to be diverted, the passenger can claim a full refund of the ticket. Princess Cruises hopes that passengers will be willing to apply for a transfer or refund of the ticket via an online form provided before April 15.
It was not explained what caused the postponement of the voyage of the two Emerald Princes and Majestic Princes ships, but it may still be related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement said Princess Cruises is currently coordinating with the US and Canadian governments to try to take part of the Alaska cruise season in 2021.
