Qatar Adds UK To Its Red List

Qatar has added the UK to its red list of countries, effective 15 November 2021 at 12 pm.

There are now a total of 21 countries on that red list including Barbados, Brunei Darussalam, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Iran, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Montenegro, Palestine, Romania, Russia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Serbia, Singapore, Syria, Turkey, the UK and the UAE.

This update was further confirmed in the updated UK Foreign Office travel advice.  

Travellers who are fully vaccinated by a vaccine approved by the Qatar Ministry of Public Health must undergo a PCR test with a negative result 72 hours before arrival in Qatar.

Upon arrival in Qatar, passengers must undergo a PCR test on arrival at the quarantine hotel​.

Passengers who are not vaccinated or who have not completed the necessary vaccination doses must undergo a PCR test with a negative result 72 hours before arrival in Qatar.

Upon arrival in Qatar, a PCR test is required on the sixth day of quarantine and the individual will be released on the seventh day if the result of the COVID-19 test is negative.

Unvaccinated UK travellers face seven days quarantine in a hotel.
