Riviera Travel has introduced a reduced £99 per-person deposit, marking the first time in the company’s history that it has offered a low, flat deposit across all holidays, products, and departure dates.

The new £99 deposit helps remove barriers to booking, giving your customers the confidence to secure their ideal Riviera holiday, including preferred dates, cabins, or rooms, with minimal upfront commitment.
Launched on 9 April, the initiative is designed to support agents in reassuring customers who may be hesitant to commit, while helping to stimulate demand in the current market.
The £99 deposit will apply to new bookings only, across all product categories, including river cruises, ocean yachts, and escorted tours, for departures from 2026 through to 2028.
Importantly, the £99 deposit represents the full deposit amount with no change to existing balance due dates. This gives your customers the freedom to plan ahead and lock in the holiday they really want, while knowing support is there when it matters most.
The offer is supported by Riviera’s long-standing reputation for trust and peace of mind. Customers benefit from expert Tour Managers and Cruise Directors on every holiday, alongside UK-based support teams and 24/7 assistance while travelling.
To support agent confidence at point of sale, Riviera Travel has confirmed that, should a holiday be cancelled in line with FCDO advice, customers, should they wish, will receive a full refund of their holiday payment, regardless of value or can be transferred to a different Riviera holiday.
In addition, Riviera’s river cruise and airline partners have already hedged a significant proportion of their 2026 fuel requirements, helping to protect pricing at this stage and reinforcing the benefits of booking early.

Why This Matters
The move is aimed at helping agents overcome booking hesitation, particularly for longer-lead departures, while giving customers greater confidence to secure their holiday now.
Vicky Billing, Director of Trade and Partnerships, UK & Ireland, said:
“Introducing a £99 deposit across our entire programme is a decision we believe will make a real difference for our trade partners and their customers.
“We know customers are keen to book but hesitant to commit large amounts of money upfront, particularly for longer-lead holidays in the current market. This initiative removes that barrier, helping agents to unlock bookings for their customers across 2026, 2027 and beyond.”
Matt Luscombe, CEO at Riviera Travel, adds:
“This new, lower deposit scheme is about reassurance and confidence for our customers and agents that it’s safe and secure to travel with us.
“By lowering the initial commitment and keeping all balance due dates unchanged, we’re giving customers the freedom to book, safe in the knowledge that they’re travelling with a trusted operator.”
