Royal Caribbean Group Celebrates Shell Week

Royal Caribbean Group and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) are launching Shell Week – a campaign that starts on World Oceans Day (June 8) and runs through World Sea Turtle Day (June 16) to raise awareness for sea turtle conservation.

In celebration of Shell Week, guests can also unlock exclusive turtle-themed virtual badges in the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises apps, bringing the sea turtle conservation story to life through interactive digital rewards.

At the heart of Shell Week is a bracket-style Turtle Tournament, where ocean lovers can vote for their favorite. Turtles will go head-to-head in daily videos sharing bite-sized facts and a lot of personality to win votes on social media.

Fans can show their support by visiting @RoyalCaribbean and @CelebrityCruises on Instagram to vote for their favorite turtles each day. The winner will be revealed on June 16 via social media.

Shell Week Highlights:

Turtle Tournament: A lighthearted, bracket-style competition to crown the most popular sea turtle.

Ocean Explorers Club In-App: Interactive educational content and conservation activities available through the Royal Caribbean app and Celebrity Cruises app, where vacationers can earn the Ocean Explorers virtual badge.

Bonus Sweepstakes: Participants can enter for a chance to win a 2-day trip to Florida for two—including a day in the field with a WWF scientist studying sea turtles in their natural habitat.

Shell Week is part of Royal Caribbean Group’s broader SEA the Future initiative, which focuses on sustaining the planet, energizing communities, and accelerating innovation.

This campaign is a great fit for World Ocean Day roundups and feel-good editorial features that highlight creative ways brands are supporting conservation and inspiring public engagement.
