Royal Caribbean International’s second round of its trade customer competition, Royal Pitch, came to a close this week.
Three of the five finalists received financial investment to help make their innovative business idea a reality.
Consortia members across the UK and Ireland pitched their concepts to a panel of judges to win a portion of the £200,000 total investment.
Judges included entrepreneur and “Reggae Reggae Sauce” creator, Levi Roots, and Ben Bouldin, Vice President EMEA at Royal Caribbean International.
The three recent winners hailed from Premier Travel, Cruise Circle and Travel Village Group.
Winners walked away with a total investment of £65,000 for their ideas, ranging from content creation and local sponsorships to radio marketing.
All five agents who made it to the finals also received £6,000 worth of marketing spend with Cruise Critic, which can be utilised on a range of Cruise Critic products including emails, display ads and more.
Stuart Byron, Director of Sales UK, Ireland and Spain, Royal Caribbean International said: “Myself and the other judges were thoroughly impressed by the unique and creative thinking shown by the finalists in this round.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the concepts come to fruition and the impact on their business growth over the next 12 months.
“After this round, I’m even more excited for the next to hear more ingenious ideas from our agents.”
The next round of entries is now open as of 3rd October and travel agents will have until 20th November to submit their creative proposals. The third round of judging will take place on 6th December.
To enter the competition, agents must submit a video via the Club Royal website detailing their creative business proposal and requested investment in under five minutes.
