Sail Croatia: UK Demand Soars For Luxury And Cycle Cruises

Sail Croatia has reported a surge in the percentage of UK holidaymakers booking its Elegance and Cycle cruises for 2022, said the company today in a statement.

Elegance cruises are luxury sailings for up to 38 guests and are aimed at mature travellers. Since the start of the year, 55% of 2022 bookings have been made by people from the UK. This compares to 15% for the same period in 2019.

Cycle cruises are for travellers looking to explore Croatia on two wheels. 34% of 2022 bookings have been made from the UK, compared to 22% in 2019.

Since the start of the year, most visitors to the Sail Croatia website are from the UK.

Overall, there have been 86% more organic traffic from the UK than any other country, and a 43% increase in UK visits compared to 2019.

Sail Croatia is offering a total of 450 small ship sailings this year, covering five types of cruises. They operate from April to October, departing via Split or Dubrovnik.

100 Elegance Cruises are available, covering five itineraries across three ship grades. Excursions include Diocletian’s Palace in Split, Dubrovnik’s city walls and the remarkable Blue Cave in Vis, as well as daily swim stops.

There are 68 Cycle Cruises for cyclists of all abilities, which include the opportunity to ride across Hvar, Mljet National Park and Krka National Park.

Guests can hire a bike or bring their own, with electric bikes available. A cycling guide will be on hand at all times. Three ship grades and four itineraries are on offer.

Sail Croatia’s three other cruises are:

 * Explorer cruises, which are sailings for travellers in their 20s and 30s as well as ‘young at heart’ travellers, for up to 40 guests.

 * Navigator cruises, which are party sailings for 18-39 year olds.

 * Hike cruises, which are for active travellers who want to explore their surroundings on foot

All cruises include buffet breakfasts and a three-course lunch daily, a tour manager and Wi-Fi. A fully stocked bar is also available onboard which operates on a tab system.
