Specialist cruise media brand Sailawaze has unveiled a new awards ceremony in partnership with Metro to celebrate the best of the cruise industry.
The Sailawaze Excellence Awards is open to all cruise lines across ocean, river and expedition sectors, as well as ports.
It will shine a spotlight on the innovation that has advanced the cruise experience in the last 18 months, comprising dining concepts, wellbeing programmes, sustainability developments, technology, shore excursions and more.
The combined media reach of Sailawaze and Metro will ensure the cruise industry has the opportunity to showcase its latest innovations to a vast ‘yet-to-cruise’ audience.
Winners will be decided by a consumer vote and announced at a gala ceremony in central London on May 16, 2024, with Iglu Cruise as headline sponsor. The event will be free to attend.
The Sailawaze Excellence Awards are split into eight broad categories, including:
- Sustainability
- Technology
- Accessibility
- Food and beverage
- Entertainment
- Excursions
- Wellness
- Collaborations
Nominations are open from today and close on March 22. The nomination process is quick and easy – entrants just need to complete an online form (up to 200 words).

Submissions will be judged by a panel of cruise industry experts, who will produce a long list of nominations. These will then go into a final round of consumer voting, with the finalists announced on May 6.
