Heritage Expeditions has announced that legendary mammalogist, conservationist, author and scientist Professor Tim Flannery will be joining its upcoming Indonesian Explorer voyage (7-24 October 2023).
Professor Flannery, a regular special guest with Heritage Expeditions, is famously described by Sir David Attenborough as being “in the league of the world’s all-time great explorers”.
He will join guests in exploring some of the little-known and rarely-visited Indonesian islands on the October expedition’s itinerary.
Commercial Director and Expedition Leader Aaron Russ said Professor Flannery and Heritage Expeditions have an impressive history of scientific discovery.
“When Tim joined our first Indonesian Explorer voyage in 2019 he and our guests discovered 11 new mammal species when we visited Kofiau Island, providing the first scientific records for this island ever.”
