Singapore Food Festival Returns To London

The 29th Singapore Food Festival (SFF) has returned to London.

Taking place from 24 August – 11 September, the festival celebrates Singapore’s food & culture through various reimagining of Singaporean cuisine.

Themed “Real Foodies Only”, visitors can explore Singapore’s diverse experiences and flavours, from food steeped in heritage and tradition to contemporary and innovative creations.

There will be virtual masterclasses, workshops, heritage tours, special menus at partner restaurants and fringe activities, exclusive SFF food merchandise, as well as an all-new virtual marketplace.

Foodies in the UK can also participate in the SFF action as Singapore Tourism Board has partnered with a number of UK establishments who have created limited edition items or menus as follows:

From 2nd August Honest Burgers will introduce its limited-edition burger available across all 43 Honest Burgers sites nationwide.

The cereal chicken burger is inspired by Singapore’s Zi Char cuisine – loosely translated as “cook and fry” – a fusion of local dishes cooked to order and eaten communally.

A firm favourite on a local Singaporean restaurant Keng Eng Kee’s menu is cereal prawns, which Honest Burgers loved so much they took inspiration for the new burger.

As with all Honest Burger’s limited editions, the burger will be paired with an exclusive craft beer; ‘Culinary Concepts 2.0’ is a collaboration between Singaporean brewery Off Day Beer Co. and UK-based brewery Northern Monk.

The burger and beer are priced at £14 and £6.50 respectively.

From 6th August, Rasa Sayang, located in London’s Chinatown will offer a Singapore Heritage Menu.

The special menu celebrates dishes Singapore is best known for:

●      Singapore Rojak

●      Chargrilled Chicken Satay

●      Hainanese Chicken Rice

●      Singapore Chilli Crab

●      Sago Gula Melaka

●      Teh Tarik

The set menu will be available from 6th August to 11th September. Minimum of two and priced at £29.95ph. Available for lunch and dinner at Rasa Sayang in London’s iconic Chinatown. Dine-in only.

Meanwhile, Old Chang Kee will be serving customers a limited edition Chili Crab Puff at its London stores (In Covent Garden & Fitzrovia ) from 24th  August until 11th September.

Delivery is available nationwide through its website. The Chilli Crab puff will be filled with crab meat and crab sauce.
