Star Clippers has announced its 2028 summer sailing season with three new home port destinations in the Mediterranean.

Porto Santo Island, a quiet Madeiran island known for an uninterrupted 9km stretch of golden sand, is a brand-new port of call on the Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) round-trips which depart in October and November 2028 (9 nights on board Star Flyer, prices from £2965pp, cruise-only based on two adults sharing a category 6 cabin).
Sailings to and from Barcelona reintroduce the French ports of Sète, Port Vendres and Cassis after a ten-year hiatus from the sailing programme (7-nights on board Star Flyer in July, August & September 2028, prices from £2305pp, cruise-only based on two adults sharing a category 6 cabin).
Cassis, which only allows seven ships into the port per season, is a quiet, authentic fishing village known for Cap Canaille, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe (7-nights on board Star Flyer, Nice to Barcelona, 17th September 2028, from £2305pp based on two adults sharing a category 6 cabin).
In addition, a new 10-night departure from Valletta to Rome has also been added to the itineraries, visiting Gozo and multiple Italian ports across the mainland and Sicily, including Lipari, Trapani, Agropoli and Sorrento (10-nights on board Royal Clipper, 8th July 2028, price from £3610pp, cruise-only based on two adults sharing a category 6 cabin).
Fay McCormack, Star Clippers’ UK General Manager, speaks of the new itineraries: “Our summer 2028 brochure perfectly represents the heart and soul of Star Clippers, offering an authentic and unique experience under sail, whilst visiting largely inaccessible ports of call. Our new season represents the old and new, with exciting debuts as well as returning favourites such as the Greek Islands sailings.
“We are delighted that Royal Clipper’s Sicily Unveiled voyage, which includes a complimentary shuttle bus to the beautiful coastal town of Cefalù, returns for another year. In addition, guests can continue to set sail from the heart of Venice – a privilege reserved for only a small handful of ships.”
