Tahiti Unveils Roadmap To Sustainable Tourism

Tahiti has announced a “bold strategy” to protect natural resources, benefit the local population and preserve high-quality visitor experience.

The Fari’ira’a Manihini 2027 (or FM27) seeks to position French Polynesia as one of the leading destinations in the Pacific for inclusive and sustainable tourism in the next five years.

It is a critical roadmap that was co-constructed with the local population as well as public and private tourism stakeholders, initiated by the Ministry of Tourism of French Polynesia.

This detailed roadmap follows on previous initiatives announced by the Presidency to enact control on cruising capacity and expand marine protections in The Islands of Tahiti.

The destination is also committed to following the tourism strategy established by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) for the Pacific Tourism Organization (PTO) of which The Islands of Tahiti is a member.

Air Moana Launches Direct Flights

As a new Polynesian airline, Air Moana is proposing complimentary domestic flights in order to better serve Tahiti and its islands.

The new fleet will be composed of two latest generations ATR 72-600 aircraft equipped with high-performance turboprops with 72 comfortable seats, 12 of which will recline.
