The sky-dive simulator has been named the most popular onboard experience for UK cruise thrill-seekers. The activity was selected by almost a quarter of cruise.co.uk’s customers as the preferred high-energy attraction which appeals to them the most.
The sky-dive simulator secured 23% of votes, with ‘ziplining across the decks’ coming in second on 14%. ‘Racing on a Go-Karting track’ was third on the podium with 12%.
Almost seven out of ten respondents said they’re not interested in a high-octane experience and would rather sit back and relax elsewhere on their ship, via facilities including spas, swimming pools and gyms.
A sky-diving simulator and ziplining are available on select Royal Caribbean ships. MSC also has ziplining facilities, while Norwegian Cruise Line has top deck Go-Karting. The survey was completed by almost 900 thrill-loving and non-thrill-loving cruise.co.uk customers.
Tony Andrews, cruise.co.uk Managing Director, said: “The range of activities available when sailing on a cruise is phenomenal.”
“Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie wanting to experience a sky-dive at sea, or you’d rather spend your time peacefully in an adults-only spa retreat, these incredible floating hotels truly have something for everyone.
“When you combine the fantastic experiences available both on and off a ship, alongside the outstanding value-for-money a cruise offers, it’s no wonder ever-increasing numbers of people are opting for a holiday at sea.”
Most appealing onboard ‘thrill’ experiences:
1) Sampling a skydiving simulator
2) Ziplining across the decks
3) Racing on a Go-Karting track
4) Riding an outdoor roller coaster
5) Speeding down a top-deck water slide
6) Bashing on bumper cars
7) Going ice skating
8) Catching a wave on a surfing simulator
9) Scaling a rock climbing wall
10) Peaking on the high ropes courses
